1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Daily Verse ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our iOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
Local Data (stored exclusively on your device):
- Habit tracking data and daily completion records
- Daily study progress, reflections, and responses to study questions
- Struggle mode selections and history
- Favorite verses and bookmarks
- App preferences, settings, and theme choices
- Streak and progress data
- Onboarding completion status
- Widget configuration preferences
This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework and never leaves your device unless you choose to back it up via iCloud (managed by Apple, not by us).
Data transmitted to our servers:
- AI request content: The text of requests sent to our AI features (such as prayer generation, study explanations, and struggle support). This includes the context you provide (e.g., a life situation or topic) but does not include your name, email, or other personally identifiable information.
- Anonymous device token: A randomly generated anonymous token used for authentication with our backend services. This token is not linked to your Apple ID, name, email, or any other personal identifier.
Information we do NOT collect:
- Your name, email address, or contact information
- Your location data
- Your contacts, photos, or other device data
- Your browsing history
- Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV) for tracking purposes
- Any biometric data
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we handle for the following purposes:
- Providing App functionality: Local data powers features like habit tracking, study progress, streak calculations, favorites, and widget displays
- Generating AI content: AI request text is sent to our backend and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API to generate personalized prayers, reflections, study explanations, and biblical guidance
- Authentication: The anonymous device token authenticates your device with our backend services to prevent abuse
- Improving the App: We may use aggregated, non-identifiable usage patterns to improve App features and performance
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Anthropic (Claude API): Powers AI-generated content features. AI request text is processed by Anthropic's servers. Anthropic's Privacy Policy
- Convex: Provides our backend infrastructure for processing AI requests and serving legal documents. Convex Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscription processing and entitlements. RevenueCat may collect anonymous transaction data related to your subscription. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Apple StoreKit: Processes all subscription payments through your Apple ID. All payment information is handled by Apple and is never accessible to us. Apple Privacy Policy
We do not share your personal data with any other third parties for marketing, advertising, or analytics purposes.
5. Data Storage and Security
We take the security of your information seriously and employ the following measures:
- On-device storage: All personal data (habits, study progress, preferences, favorites) is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework with on-device encryption
- Keychain storage: Sensitive items such as authentication tokens and subscription status are stored in Apple's Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption
- Secure transport: All communication between the App and our backend services uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Minimal server-side data: We minimize the data sent to and stored on our servers. AI request content is processed in real-time and is not persistently stored in our systems
- No plaintext secrets: API keys and sensitive configuration are never stored in the app bundle or transmitted to the device
6. Data Retention
- Local data: Persists on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data through your device settings
- AI request data: Processed in real-time to generate responses and not persistently stored on our servers after the response is delivered
- Authentication tokens: Stored in your device's Keychain and removed when you uninstall the App
- Subscription data: Managed by Apple and RevenueCat in accordance with their respective data retention policies
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their marketing or commercial purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party service providers listed in Section 4 to the extent necessary to provide the App's core functionality.
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information as soon as possible.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 13 has provided information through the App, please contact us at dailyverseapp@outlook.com so we can take appropriate action.
9. Your Rights and Data Control
Because the vast majority of your data is stored locally on your device, you have direct and complete control over it:
- Access: All your data is visible and accessible within the App
- Deletion: You can delete all App data by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage in your device settings (Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Daily Verse)
- Portability: Your local data is managed by iOS and may be included in your device backups
- Opt-out of AI features: You can choose not to use AI-powered features, and no request data will be sent to our servers
To request deletion of any server-side data associated with your anonymous device token, please contact us at dailyverseapp@outlook.com.

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
12. Do Not Track Signals
The App does not track users across third-party websites or services and therefore does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. We do not use any advertising tracking technologies.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the bottom of this policy and, where appropriate, through an in-App notification.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. Your continued use of the App after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
